Els Cortals d’Encamp
The climb to Els Cortals d’Encamp starts in the city of Encamp, a city of about 12.000 inhabitans directly next to the busy main road through Andorra. Although you could argue that it starts in the capital Andorra La Vella (adding about 220 hm in 5 kilometers) or even further down the valley. From Encamp it is a steep climb throughout, averaging almost 9% over a little less than 10 kilometers. The last part is relatively easier. The paved road ends at the middle station of the cable car that connects Encamp with a ridge at 2.500 m within Grandvalira ski resort, thus assuring a lift & ski link with El Pas de la Casa and the rest of the domain.
