The Col des Bordรจres, in the Hautes-Pyrรฉnรฉes of France, links Arrens-Marsous, at the foot of the Col du Soulor, with the Val dโEstaing. Tour stages use it to drop from the Soulor towards the Argelรจs valley. Its finest day came in 1989. Miguel Indurain broke away on the stage from Pau, crossed five summits alone, the Bordรจres among them, and won at Cauterets. He took the climbersโ jersey that day, the only time in his career he wore it.
This ride starts in Arrens beside the chapel of Pouey-Laรผn, known as the โgolden chapelโ, on the Via Tolosana pilgrim route to Santiago de Compostela. It climbs to the col and descends into Estaing. In 2025 Bruno Armirail led the Tour over this side on the stage to Hautacam, which Tadej Pogacar won.
