Star Wars Canyon, Jedi transition, Death Valley
On the map it is Rainbow Canyon, west of Death Valley in California’s starkly beautiful desert. To fighter pilots, it is called Star Wars Canyon, or the Jedi Transition. This is where military pilots in the western United States hone their low-level evasion tactics. A wide variety of military jets use the canyon, dropping below its rim while passing spectators who look down on the fast moving aircraft. A very unique place, you can see what it looks like if you are willing to make a stop at Father Crowley Vista Point (marked as POI), just make sure to bring your earplugs.
